Tiger Woods still makes the cut: When you know you are badass...

 No one is perfect. And at the end of the day, what are two things that talk? The answer: Money and power.

Although golfer Tiger Woods image is tarnished...he still lands on top.

For the seventh year in a row. SI.com has created a top 50 earning list of American athletes. Based on salary, winnings, endorsements and appearance fees...Woods still excels. The average earning of players on the list is the highest it has ever been ( and we are in a recession). The average earning is $26.2 million. This is an 11 percent increase from 2009! Woods was down more than $9 million from a year ago. He still made $30 million more than Number two athlete golfer Phil Mickelson.


Besides golfer standing above the curve, 16 basketball players, 13 major leaguers, three NASCAR drivers, and one boxer made the cut.

If money does not talk, I do not know what does?

Team Edward or Team Jacob, Kagan?

Generally, Supreme Court confirmation hearings are not  greatly intriguing. There are not great bombshells to be had, nor do many candidates go into great detail on, well,much of anything.

The process has basically become an exercise in playing not to lose. But easily the most surreal moment of the whole thing came on Wednesday, when nominee Elena Kagan was asked the question that is perhaps one of the most intensely debated in America, and at the same time, the most easily irrelevant to the nomination process:

Team Edward or Team Jacob?

Yes, you read that right. A Senator – specifically, Amy Klobuchar, Democrat from Minnesota – a member of the most important legislative body in the country, with power to confirm Supreme Court justices [among other things] is asking about Twilight, the movie.

Putting aside the fact that, as a college-age male, I would sooner gouge out my eyeballs and run them through a meat grinder than spoil those reading or watching Twilight. I have this to say…are you effing kidding me? You are aware we have rather serious business that needs attending to, are not you?This is not a reality show spot at stake. It is the Supreme Court.

All the biggest issues in the country –  from health care and immigration to gay marriage – will likely find a stop here, or at least have a good chance of appearing in some form.

And we are asking about, as the Senator put it, “the famous case of Edward versus Jacob or the vampire versus the werewolf.”

To be fair to Ms. Kagan, she sidestepped this question – as she has many others during the hearings – with the simple “I wish you wouldn’t [ask].”

 And for the record, this changes nothing about the actual voting – she will probably be confirmed and be wearing the robes in short order.

But come on. Can we please try to keep our focus on the issue at hand?

Besides, obviously, Team Edward.

W.T.F Moments: Alvin Greene runs for South Carolina Senate...how?

What the hell is with this country? How did Alvin Greene, an unemployed veteran, win the primary and become a democratic senate nominee in South Carolina? I am not sure how he surpassed $10,400 filing fee to be a nominee but it is notable.  If he had that money why was he able to obtain an indigent attorney? Is this a joke?

Greene is stuttering through an interview on Youtube  and to be honest this embarrasses Black people. If you are going to run for something, be educated on the matters at hand. And present one's self strongly in verbal communication. He is no Obama. But, I wish the guy the best of luck if he can pull this off! Who knows, he might be a 50 cent, go from unemployment to riches!

Age Ain't nothing but a number: is there an age limit on being fierce?

No, I am not talking about R Kelly age ain't nothing but a number promotion. I am discussing why  people are making such a big deal over 7 year old girls being fierce at a world dance competition in Ponoma, California. If you want something, you work hard at it! These little girls worked hard to be amazing at this competition! They were dancing better than people 10 times their age to single ladies! I do not see what is so wrong about that!

I took dance as a girl and they are honestly doing basic ballet routines and blending it with hip-hop! People should not hate on them because they put more than robotic motions in their dance routine! They are not stiff, and that is what all dancers should strive to feel their movements in mind and body! Although every move was not perfection, they do a very good job!

Maybe it was the clothing that could have had them less exposed, but overall this was a great routine! Mad props to the young girls and whom ever took the time to train them for this performance! If they are this fierce now, I can not wait to see them in 10 years!

How to stay Fierce for finals: Top 10 study tips!

 It is that time of the year again! Finals! Stress! But fear not, it is almost summer and here are some top 10 ways to prevent yourself from being in a frenzy! At Fromgirltogirl we keep it Ripe100 and fierce! Read below our top 10 tips! These tips will help you stay on track and stay fierce!


Here are the top ten fierce tips to success!



1. Have a Positive Attitude

If you believe you are going to fail, you will probably fail. Yes, it might be tough,but who told you life would be easy? You got this! Keep that positive energy going and surround yourself with like-minded positive attitude people! Most successful people never implied they could not do something. Positive energy goes a long way toward having a successful life!

I always remember the little engine that could! Great book!



2. Make a Plan

Ask your Professor or teacher what is this test going to cover! Do not  put yourself in a position where you fail a final because you were too afraid to speak up! You have a voice for a reason!
If you missed a few classes, ask people for notes and join study groups! You can laugh together about how much the class annoys you! Laughter makes you live longer! Chin up like Charlotte told Wilbert in Charlotte's web!

Make sure to make a list of the most important topics covered! This will be your study guide!

 Circle material  you know will require extra time to study.  I do it all the time! I also type notes down or write repetitively to remember. I will talk answers out to people studying the same things to make sure I know what is going on! It helps very much!



3. The Night Before

Do not be a fool and cram the night before. It does not work. If you do not know shit from this course to begin with, you are a lost cause. Just keeping that Ripe100 on you! My best advice is to do a quick review right before bed and go to bed early! It works like a charm!




4. The Morning of the Test

Make sure you eat. A full stomach really helps! Have breakfast! Get to the exam early. Do a 10 minute power study before the test. It will help you feel more confident and you might remember things easier by doing this task.

5. Test Time
Before the test starts, have everything you need- pencil, pen, paper, calculator. Be prepared.

Look at how the test is scored. Take more time and effort on what will be more costly, if it is wrong, especially if you have very limited time.
6. Manage Your Time

Scan through the test quickly before starting.  Easy questions will help you save time and build confidence. Then, you will have plenty of time for the hard ones.



7. Fuck, I'm Stuck!

Do not  get worried or frustrated. Reread the question to make sure you understand it, and then try to solve it the best way you know how. If you are still stuck, circle it and move on. You can come back to it later. What if you have no idea? Review your options and make the best guess you can. Like the Nike commercial...just do it!

8. Multiple-Choice Questions

The process of elimination can help you choose the correct answer in a multiple-choice question. Start by crossing off the answers that could not be right. Then spend your time focusing on the best possible answer.

9. Neatness Counts

 Be sure that your writing is legible during essay segments. Make sure to you erase your mistakes. For machine-scored tests, fill in the spaces carefully.

10. I'm Done!

When you complete the last item on the test, check the clock and go back to review your answers, making sure that you did not make any careless mistakes.  Do not put the right answer to the wrong question! Spend the last remaining minutes going over the hardest problems.

Fierce Women on Broadway show Shine on!

Great news! Celebrities Brooke Shields, Meryl Streep and Aretha Franklin will be doing a Broadway production together in the Broadway show Shine On ! The event will be held April 12th at New York City Center! The ticket sales will be going towards a permanent location in Washington DC to pay tribute to influential American Women in the National Women's History Museum.
