Must see video clips: "Move B*tch," Cop punches teen girl.

By Briana Booker

I know this might not seem funny to people, but a Seattle cop punches a 17 year old teen girl! Why?

Well, she happen to be jay walking with a friend. She shoved him when being questioned about jay walking and he rounded up for a POW in your face sucka move!

I mean, I have jay walked before so it seems a bit extreme in my views for a cop to punch me in the face.

Looking at the video it appears to me the girl shoved the cop to get him off her friend. He probably should have reacted differently, especially because this punch in the face seems, on the surface,a white man punching a black woman. This plays on that theme of racial tensions in America. If it were a white woman being stopped for the same matter, would it have gotten to this point of aggravation?

No one is sure whether the two parties would have acted differently if they were of the same racial background.

Maybe something is in the water in Seattle because on April 17th two Seattle Officers kicked a Hispanic suspect.

What makes this video classic is that everyone has a video phone or camera out, as this action occurs.

My reaction is that the world has gone nuts! Point. Blank. Period. POW. Was this punch for public safety or just for some cash flow for the police department?

Click here for the video . Let me know your thoughts and reactions.

  1. Is there some reason race always has to be the question? We don't know what it was about. Why jump to conclusions?

  2. yeah, that's the point of the article...no one knows the story. There are always 3 sides to a story...first view. the other view. and the truth.

However, in a country built upon racial tension...it does not look to good visually, especially when Seattle recently has had abuse of power against minority groups.

Minorities often distrust authority figures in the USA.

I am keeping up on the news about it. So far, I hear he is in training.

I believe the two women are suing.

I feel both parties should be responsible for their actions though. -Briana.

  3. Except we've now added a fourth side. There's the policeman's view, the view of the woman assaulted, the view of the blogger, and the truth. Now, any one of the first three may be the same as others, and any of the first three may be the truth. But because there has been recent racial tension, this automatically is racial too?

I don't claim to defend the cop. He was incredibly out of line. But let's find out what's going on before tossing anything out there. If it was a racial incident, fine. Let's know for sure.

  4. Actually, the blogger view isn't in there. My view was that the world is just crazy in general. And i only wrote this blog article for humor sake that a police officer rounded up a punch on a girl. I would have been shocked no matter what race the officer or girl was in the story. I felt it was extreme to punch someone for jay-walking.

I know, by my family working in the police department that jay walking fines are just for revenue on a slow day, just the same for petty traffic stops.

"My reaction is that the world has gone nuts! Point. Blank. Period. POW. Was this punch for public safety or just for some cash flow for the police department?"

That was my only reaction in here.

When I mentioned this following statement:

Looking at the video it appears to me the girl shoved the cop to get him off her friend.
He probably should have reacted differently, especially because this punch in the face seems, on the surface,a white man punching a black woman. --Observing the video of what it appears on the surface. It does not look good, because of the fact race still plays role in our society. It is just more disguised. I was mentioning about the reason why this story recieved headlines. It wasn't about the action in itself, but that she was a woman and a woman that wasn't that officer race.

And in fact, to update you on the matter, the woman apologized to the police officer. It is illegal to hit a police officer in general.

However, both sides are in the wrong. And not every police stop is justified.

Now, the racial theme of tension was only announced in this story because the girl wanted to sue the officer. The settle police department wants to avoid any racial ties because they have been having a rising status on brutality towards minorities arrested.

The question i was asking was whether this story of jay-walking would have played out differently, if, by her reason, was that he punched her for being black. would he have punched a woman of his own race was the hot topic of this story.

It's the only main reason this made huge head lines while the story on the hispanic guy made very little headlines.

"This plays on that theme of racial tensions in America. If it were a white woman being stopped for the same matter, would it have gotten to this point of aggravation?"

trust me, my honest opinion wouldn't have been brief about the matter.

  5. Oh, and just to tell everyone...this article was refered to me by a White male who is my co-worker, not affiliated with this blog at all. We were laughing about the punch and had very little talk about the parties involved.

  6. Also note, if this blog post had intent to subject race completely in the matter, i would have named it White cop punches black teen. However, I did not name it that.
