Buddha Bernstein's post game commentary: USA vs England World Cup.

By Zachary 'Buddha' Bernstein

I do not think I have ever been so happy to see a tie in any sport in my life! And yet, it is US 1, England 1 after 90-plus minutes. A point for all, and on to Algeria and Slovenia for what should be two considerably easier match ups.

Why the game ended 1-1, I am not entirely sure. After all, England scored only four minutes in and pressured insanely throughout, particularly later in the second half. And our goal was a complete fluke. I have not played soccer for some years, but I could have made that save. I would really not want to be Robert Green right about now.

But considering that England was as heavily favored as one team could be over another, I will take a draw, and I think the vast majority of US fans will do likewise. One point leaves us even with England, easily the team most favored to advance from the group. It is much better than nothing – which is probably what we should have gotten.

Final question: Now that it is a tie who sends the beer? Cameron or Obama?
