Summer to do list: Let's Read. Let's move!

 It is official. Summer has officially started. Although summer is a time for fun, we must make note to maintain our wits and skills needed to succeed educationally, personally and career wise!

  Research displays that a vast number of youth suffer learning-loss and acquire unhealthy eating habits( 1 out of 3 children in the United States of America are overweight) more often during summer breaks! In fact, children can lose more than two months in reading achievement during summer months!

So, how to help battle this issue?

The First Lady, Michelle Obama, strongly believes her new initiative called  Let's Read. Let's move. will make it easier for Americans to build stronger minds and bodies by enhancing opportunities to read, exercise and eat healthier during the summer months! Not only will it be fun,but the students will achieve success in the later months when school is back in session!

 I recommend children and adults read and collaborate community fitness this summer! I have always enjoyed reading during the summer and throughout the school year! In fact, I have most of the books I have read throughout my childhood to present stored in my parents basement! I hope to someday give them to my children and grandchildren to read!

 Reading is a great adventure when you are captured in the story line! And it only takes five books to combat summer learning loss!

As for fitness, a nature walk is fabulous and an easy task to do! Just by walking a few minutes over a couple of months, each day, has really improved my fitness and physical attributes! You can also do other means of exercise... try Yoga, take up a dance class, or hula hoop! Do what is best for you and have fun!

Over the course of the summer I will be posting on Mama treats, a sub section of the blog, healthy, inexpensive,but tasty treats you can eat throughout the summer and beyond! I also will come up with a great reading list for all to enjoy!

You know what today is? Get excited! It is the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, 19th one to be exact! It is being held in South Africa until July 11,2010!

Futbol (soccer) is one, if not the most, demanding sport of all time! This year the final forecast for the 2010 World Cup final is expected to be one of the most-watched events in the history of mankind! Wow! It might over top the 2008 Olympic Games opening ceremony for the most-watched event!

She has this idea that if she gets a few Macy gift cards of $10 dollars or more, she will be closer to getting that deep fryer! She plans on taking a summer day trip to a good deep fried restaurant! 3. Carlos Santana's Shoes Carlos. Our boss is a huge fan of colorful and comfortable items! She enjoys flat shoes but she will also wear heels that stand out! She adores Carolos Santana's shoe line!

4. Victoria's Secret. This is one of her favorite stores! She worked there before,but we are sure she prefers to be a Ford Model someday. You can find her with something from Vikki's everyday, whether clothes, panties,  shoes or perfumes!

5. A finger monkey ($1000 to $2,000 bucks, definitely cooler than a wedding ring)and time with Family, friends and the mysterious guy she adores(priceless)!  Come on, finger monkeys are too cute! As for family, they are what matters at the end of the day! What is a birthday without the people you love?

The National Zoo Panda Pregnant?

There is rumor that the female Giant Panda at the National Zoo in Washington DC is pregnant! Rising hormone levels indicate this might be factual! The Giant Panda name is Mei Xiang; she is super cute! We will know for sure in 40 to 50 days if the pregnancy is true! She was artificially inseminated during the month of January! We hope this is true and not a Beyonce is pregnant moment! Jeez, we always get our hopes up!

Hot date dilemma: Bad breath,solved!

Ever had a really great date, and for some reason you end up spending the night but worry you'll turn off your hot date with your morning breath?!

Fear no more!

Remember when the doctor said " An apple a day keeps the doctor away." It's true and it can cure more than that! It can make a hot date spectacular by making you memorable in good ways,and not for raunchy morning breath!
