wtf moment : Nike Resurrects Tiger's Dad for commercial.

Earl Woods died in 2006.

Tomorrow is the Masters in the golf world. Tomorrow Tiger Woods needs to put up his A-game, but while we see what happens, we would like to comment on Nike going too far. Using Woods father,Earl Woods, to scold Tiger beyond the grave is a bit too far for us. Yes, we all  have those moments where we talk to our deceased  loved ones( if you have not experience this yet,you will eventually), but really do we have to use that personal relationship to humanize Woods? We all have done not so sensible actions. We have not met a person that has not. No one is perfect, that is what makes us human.

The commercial is expected to air tonight. It was shot on March 25, on the Isleworth Country club golf course near his Florida neighborhood. Let us know how you feel about this commercial! Is it good or has it gone too far?

The commercial will air on ESPN and the Golf Channel.

  1. Well Tiger is IN the commercial, so he obviously agreed to it. He's probably just trying to look like he feels bad (whether he does or does not).

  2. Generally, I'm against dead people appearing in ads. I still remember Fred Astaire dancing with the Dirt Devil. When a vacuum cleaner commercial gives you nightmares of dancing zombies, your mind gets made up right quick. I don't want "Thriller" going while I'm asleep.

  3. I understand that Nike has used Tiger's dad in commercials, but really...i would not use my loved one in a commercial. But,money is money.

Anyone notice Tiger Woods is rocking his OWN Tiger Woods bag? Nike and Tiger are about to dominate the media.

Companys are making millions this weekend, thanks to Tiger Woods just being there. People get mad excited. I hope he wins.- Briana Booker

  4. Then again Earl Woods did love Nike and they are sticking with him through the good and bad. That's loyalty. I personally believe private should be separate from public life/ business.- Briana Booker

  5. Wait, I have a question for Samantha. What should he feel bad about? I understand he deserves to say sorry to his wife, but to the public, what for?

Plenty of men cheat...some get caught, some do not. Women cheat too. And to be honest, this present generation has no room to judge. No courtship and no respect. Marriage is not sacred anymore. It is a sad truth.

  6. I didn't say he had to be sorry about anything. I said that's what it looks like he is trying to convey in the commercial.

And to your point about marriage not being sacred and all of that... that doesn't mean just because a lot of people act that way it's ok. But that wasn't even the point of my post.

  7. I don't know. Nike and Tiger are making bank on this ad. Earl Wood's words were not towards Tiger at all. He was discussing his parenting in comparison to his wife's parenting method. It's a witty commercial and it is getting exactly what it wants out of the public.

Yeah, it is not right, but it is reality.
